Abstracts
Power gating has been
successfully employed to reduce dynamic and leakage power. In fact, design
practice has shown 1000x reduction on leakage power. However, this effective
technique is concerned with nontrivial area and delay overhead. In this demo,
we optimize power gating and the power delivery system (power/ground network)
simultaneously and tackle this problem at the physical design phase. Compared to
the previous separate design method, our method simultaneously achieves up to 25%
area reduction in Power/Ground network and 68% reduction on power
gating, respectively.
