The list of work during the past one week is shown below: 1. revise the journal submission for leakage reduction 2. study the statistics behavior of VoIP packet streams for our dynamic power management in network processor. [1] studies the modeling of VoIP traffic. At call level, it shows that the popular Poisson distribution are good enough for VoIP call arrival modeling, while the call holding times should be model by the generalized Pareto distribution. Due to different codecs for VoIP, the packet level distributions present different characteristics. Usually the voice traffic streams produced by codecs use silence compression and generate active (On) and inactive (Off) periods alternatiely. The generalized pareto distribution can be used as an accurate model for the On and Off periods too. Our focus should be the packet level stream traffic. Further readings are necessary to fully understand the assumption and conclusion. 3. start working on the implementation of share cache in the CMP simulator. 4. modify the CMP simulator for DVS [1] Trang Dinh Dang; Sonkoly, B.; Molnar, S.; "Fractal analysis and modeling of VoIP traffic", Telecommunications Network Strategy and Planning Symposium.
